P&G again named World's Most Admired Companies

American famous financial magazine FORTUNE, released the annual “World's Most Admired Companies” list on March 3, 2010. P&G came in at number six on the list and ranked NO.1 in Soap and Cosmetics industry. It has been the third time P&G appeared on the top 10 “World Most Admired Companies” list. Together on the list are Apple, Google and other corporate giants.

The FORTUNE listed the reason why P&G was admired as below:

"Under Lafley, the former CEO of P&G, the conglomerate was admired for its innovation and focus on the consumer. Now, new CEO McDonald has announced plans to introduce dozens of new lower-cost products in the U.S. and abroad, hoping to capitalize on recession-weary shoppers looking for discounts. The company has innovated in the recession, too, introducing products like a new $45 skin care line under the Olay brand and higher-end diapers in Europe."

FORTUNE magazine' s "World's Most Admired" award measures corporate reputation and performance against nine key attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness. P&G ranked number one in all nine categories.
