P&G Again Ranks in 2010 Hurun CSR Top 50

Hurun Institute released the “2010 Hurun Corporate Social Responsibility Top 50”on July 23rd, 2010. P&G ranks among the list for the forth consecutive year, and is the ninth among “Hurun Most Respected CSR Projects (Foreign Corporations)”. P&G is one of the only two companies of daily commodity ranks in the list.

The list of “Hurun CSR Top 50” focus on corporations commit to the government who is their stakeholder, tax amount and numbers of employees are the main part of the list. Meanwhile, research by 50 CSR experts is the reference for the final ranking. Among the top 50, 18 of them are foreign companies. And comment by Hurun Ranking is that “they are all forerunner and leader of CSR concept”.

So far, P&G has built over 190 Hope Schools in China, joining hands with business partners and its employees. The number is estimated to reach 200 by August 2010, which makes P&G the multinational company in China that assist in building most Hope Schools. There are 100 thousand children are studying or graduating from P&G Hope Schools. P&G National School Health Education Program has been implemented for 13 years, helping more than 160 million students grow up healthily around over 600 cities in 31 provinces in China. P&G also has been concerning environmental protection, striving to reduce carbon release during production and operation process. The company has set its environmental protection goal, which is to research and develop, as well as to sell “Environment-friendly innovative products” of 50 billion dollars by 2012, meanwhile release of CO2, energy and water usage as well as waste amount will reduce 20% further, which accumulates to 50% reduce in total.
