Growing up, girls may feel challenged trying to figure out their future paths and dealing with interpersonal relationships. Research shows that female role models’ stories would effectively inspire teenage girls their unlimited possibilities. As such, Whisper, P&G's feminine care brand, partners with PARKnSHOP, Watsons Hong Kong and Inspiring Girls Hong Kong (IGHK) to launch the 6th Dream #LikeAGirl campaign. Other than inviting female role models and students to share how they overcome difficulties when pursuing dreams, Whisper would also donate feminine care products to IGHK as campus supplies and support underprivileged families. Donation boxes would be installed in Watsons Hong Kong and PARKnSHOP for customers to support IGHK women's role model workshops at schools, empowering more girls to pursue their dreams confidently.
Research1shows that female role model stories is the most effective way to inspire young girls’ diverse values and ideals. Whisper launched the Dream #LikeAGirl campaign in 2018, with an aim to raise awareness of girls’ developmental rights and enhance their confidence in pursuing dreams. Last year, Dream #LikeAGirl campaign first partnered with IGHK, donating more than 10,000 pieces of sanitary pads to schools as daily supplies to support IGHK self-confidence training workshops at schools. This year, Whisper continues the partnership with Watsons Hong Kong and PARKnSHOP to contribute to women empowerment. From May 12, 2023, Whisper donates $1 worth of Whisper product to IGHK for every $50 Whisper purchase in PARKnSHOP (Until June 15th) and Watsons Hong Kong (until June 8th). Donation boxes would be installed in PARKnSHOP and Watsons Hong Kong for customers to support IGHK to break gender stereotype.
This year, six female role models from different fields and five students shared how they overcame low tides when pursuing own goals. Content creator J Lou shared that her mum encouraged her to "follow your heart, do what makes you happy". Likewise, Whisper would continue to support all girls and women to confidently pursue their dreams.
