Pampers Hong Kong Wins Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards with Its Preemie Babies Program

Held by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy, the 2023 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA), aims at recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions in implementing the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This year, Pampers Hong Kong wins the golden award in “SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing” with its long-term efforts to support premature babies.

Approximately 1 in 10 babies globally are born prematurely, and in Hong Kong there are 4,000 preemie babies born yearly. Advances in medical science have enabled younger and smaller babies to survive, which has created the need for even smaller preemie diapers that are also specially designed to meet their unique needs.

Parents of premature babies in Hong Kong faced a big challenge before this campaign launched – premature baby diapers are hardly available, and no systematic supporting platform for them to obtain premature baby care knowledge. Therefore, Pampers partnered with the Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services (HKCECES), retail partner PARKnSHOP, and with the support of local consumers, to offer the resources that preemie families require, and professional information on how to take care of preemies.

Since this campaign launched in 2018, more than 1,800 premature babies have benefited from this program, and this good cause close to our heart will continue.
